Headache

Headaches are very common and usually not life threatening. However, some headaches may represent a serious condition.

Are you having any of these symptoms?

  • Pain on one side of your head
  • Pounding headache
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Seeing spots or funny lines before the headache came

  • A recent head injury
  • The worst headache of your life
  • Severe headache that came on very suddenly
  • Trouble speaking
  • Trouble walking
  • Numbness, tingling or weakness in face or in an arm or leg on one side
  • Stiff neck and fever
  • Rash with headache
  • Passing out with headache
  • On blood thinner (Coumadin® or Lovenox®)
  • New type of headache after age 65
  • Recent tick bite
  • Exposure to carbon monoxide
  • Double vision
